What Tests are Offered and How Do I Prepare?
CAROTID ARTERIAL IMAGING
A painless, non-invasive imaging test using ultrasound. This gives us a detailed look at those arteries feeding the brain with oxygenated blood. This examination can indicate the possibility of a future stroke.
CARDIAC SONOGRAM
This ultrasound test measures the size of the heart and estimates the percentage of blood being ejected out of your heart to the rest of your body. This is how we can tell if you are at risk for cardiac dysfunction or HCM. Button down shirts are preferred for access.
ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSM
Another ultrasound test to evaluate your risk for fatal abdominal aortic aneurysms. The aorta can weaken with age and predisposition, creating a bulge that could rupture. NO FOOD for 6 hours prior to examination.
ANKLE/BRACHIAL INDEX (ABI)
Here we use ultrasound to compare the blood flow in your legs. This screens for Peripheral Vascular Disease, which causes arteriosclerosis. (Hardening of the arteries).
BLOOD PRESSURE
This is a quick reading of the upper arm and
requires no preparation.
Glucose Testing
